Occupational Health & Safety On-line Training Program Information

All employees are required to participate in the online training once employed by Coffs Harbour Removals.

Background Information

The removals industry has been identified by work cover as one of the industries most at risk, especially in the muscular-skeletal area.

While many companies have workplace management systems in place, most often the information is not being disseminated down the line from management to worker.

There are many reasons for this and one is the time factor. Having this training in place will put the information squarely in front of the worker who must complete the course, answer questions and be conversant with the responsibilities of both employer and employee.

The training is also designed for those who do not necessarily work on the trucks but need to know what their responsibilities are to themselves, their workmates and there company.

Practical Application Outcomes

The practical application outcomes will be seen in much greater worker awareness of the dangers of their workplace and how they can minimise the risks to themselves and their workmates. This will then translate to a better perception of what is required of workers to keep safe whether they remain in the removals industry or go on to other transport connected workplaces during their working career.

Program Objectives

The objectives of this program are to give greater worker awareness of risk management and how to keep safe while working within the furniture removal industry. It should provide a more responsible workplace management system with fewer work related injuries.

Who Has Access

This system enables all workers within the furniture removals industry, including office personnel, to access industry specific train in through the AFRA website without their having to travel away from their workplace causing disruption to businesses that cannot afford worker downtime. This particularly benefits remote businesses who may not otherwise have easy access to training.

What will the costs be?

There will be no cost to train in a staff member other than a registration fee of $10 per person including BST. This fee is to cover all data management and administration costs.
